Some gasoline…

This might illicit some comments….

Book Info

An interesting news story about our “right” to carry a concealed weapon and “defend ourselves” when in danger.

Just a bit of scripture:

47 And while He was still speaking, behold, a multitude; and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him. 48 But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?” 49 When those around Him saw what was going to happen, they said to Him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?” 50 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. 51 But Jesus answered and said, “Permit even this.” And He touched his ear and healed him. 52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and the elders who had come to Him, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs? 53 When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not try to seize Me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”

I love God only as I love my Enemy.

Ozomatli

I’m not normally the type of person to ask others to sign up for something, or forward an email. But I wondered if you all might do me a favor.

If you’re not familiar with the band Ozomatli, perhaps you should spend a good hour on their site, listening to music, reading through the activism site, and certainly watching some of the live show.

They encourage fans to go to http://eventful.com/demand. Here people can “demand” that a group come to an area where they are not already scheduled to tour. Ozomatli spends most of their time on the west coast and need to head into Columbus I think.

If you get a chance, go to that site, sign in and add yourself to the demand list I started for Columbus. Trust me, if they end up anywhere in Ohio, it will be worth it.

Dear Ben:

Dear Ben Lee:

Listen, we need to talk.

I attended the show that you opened last night for Nickel Creek. And while I do live in Springfield, I consider myself a decently knowledgeable individual when it comes to music. So it was with some excitement that I awaited your show last night. I’ve seen you in The Rage in Placid Lake. I loved the film. Great script, good acting, fun film.

I cannot say however, that I very much enjoyed your show. Sure there were some moments of humor, and even some decent musical moments. But overall, I’d have to say you fell short in a few areas:

1) Just because you’re Australian and speak with an accent, that doesn’t make everything you say funny. You have to actually be funny.

2) Don’t tell my friends what to do. In case this doesn’t register with you, I’m referring to your incessant “Just do it”.

3) Your radio release is infectious, but in the same way I think of Gonorrhea.

4) Lara Meyerratken’s cajon playing was the best part of your show, even if her forced laughter at your awful asides were easily seen through.

5) At least you owned up to only using four chords.

Ben, you’re a great guy and I’m sure if I knew you I wouldn’t give you a hard time about your show. As a matter of fact, I’m sure I’m less talented than you are, so why complain at all?

Because I had to wait for you to finish so I could hear Nickel Creek.

Feel free to call or email me if you are coming. Missy and I saw Nickel Creek in October and it was well worth the $50. This one is free. So you have no excuse.

Missy and I will be there with a couple frisbees.
